Our Mission

Mission

The mission of Kids Who Care is to create cultures of empathy, kindness and compassion in middle schools and high schools across Arizona. We do this by preparing Peer-to-Peer Mentors to provide strong academic coaching, coping skills, stress reduction techniques, and acts of kindness to their fellow students.

Our peer mentors learn academic coaching and life skills so they can provide academic tutoring, coping and stress reduction techniques to students who are struggling with stress and anxiety from home, school, friends and the media. Our goal is to see all of Arizona’s kids attend school, learn skills, be safe and become successful. All services provided by Kids Who Care are free of charge to our students, teachers, schools and parents. We do this by…

  • Training school administrators, teachers, students and parents in Peer-to-Peer Mentoring best practices including the ABC’s of civil responsibility – Acceptance, Being Good to One Another, and Community Service.
  • Connecting classrooms with non-profits that have an approved community service education program.
  • Marketing Peer-to-Peer Mentoring as a strategy to teach empathy, kindness and compassion through a state-wide outreach campaign. Through the outreach campaign, Kids Who Care will demonstrate how Peer-to-Peer Mentoring combined with character education fosters academic success for all students.

Vision

Kids Who Care, Inc associates will provide thousands of teachers and schools throughout Arizona with the knowledge and resources they need to implement Peer-to-Peer Mentoring education and programming. There will never be a fee charged to schools or teachers for our services. With Peer-to-Peer Mentoring programs in place, Arizona schools will engage students by offering real world learning experiences through academic coaching and life skills training combined with character education to teach critical thinking skills. Our hope is to empower students to use their empathy, compassion, creativity, knowledge and individual talents to make the world a better place.
