Peer Mentoring 101 – Academic and Life Skills Coaching

Kids Who Care offers teachers and school administrators a customized training program for their peer mentors. We are available to help with each step of the mentoring process, from recruiting your mentors to creating the perfect environment for tutoring. Kids Who Care believes this is the best way to give educators and mentors time to address the individual needs of their students. Each training program includes:

  • Academic coaching best practices and lessons designed for your students.
  • Workshops that teach peer mentors life skills and coping skills such as problem solving, decision making, how to give feedback and how to help a friend in crisis.
  • In-classroom assistance from Kids Who Care staff to work with students as they investigate, plan, take action, reflect, and celebrate their efforts. Educators lead the charge and act as guides, facilitators, and mentors depending on the grade and students’ degree of independence.

Please contact us if you have any questions about our teacher training program. We would be happy to meet with you in person to discuss Peer-to-Peer Mentoring for your school. KidsWhoCareaz@gmail.com is the easiest place to reach us.
